Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – 30 September 2025 – A lucky customer from Moshi, Kilimanjaro Region, Mr. Dolvin Salvatory Olomi, has been named the grand prize winner of TZS 5 million as BANK OF AFRICA – TANZANIA concludes its digital banking campaign, “Miamala ni Fursa.”
The campaign, which ran from June to September 2025, rewarded 60 winners nationwide, with customers earning weekly cash prizes of TZS 50,000 for using the Bank’s B-Mobile platform. The initiative ended with a final supervised draw, awarding the grand prize of TZS 5 million to the most consistent and active digital banking user — officially announced as the lucky winner, Mr. Olomi.
“Winning TZS 5 million for simply using mobile banking is life-changing,” said Mr. Olomi, expressing gratitude to the Bank for promoting financial inclusion through innovative and rewarding campaigns.
Driving Digital Banking Adoption
Launched on 4th June 2025, the “Miamala ni Fursa” campaign was designed to accelerate the adoption of digital banking by encouraging everyday mobile transactions, including bank-to-wallet transfers, bill payments, and airtime or electricity purchases. The campaign also supported the Government of Tanzania’s digitization agenda, promoting broader financial access.
Mr. Lameck Mushi, Chief Digital Officer at BANK OF AFRICA – TANZANIA, emphasized the importance of affordability and accessibility in driving uptake:
“The campaign's success is a clear sign that Tanzanians are ready to embrace digital banking when it’s simple, accessible, and rewarding. Reducing bank-to-wallet transfer fees by over 50% played a major role in boosting mobile transactions, and the excitement around winning prizes added even more motivation.”
Mr. Mushi added:
“Whether you live in a major city or a remote area, B-Mobile gives everyone a chance to bank, save, and now win. This campaign proves that digital banking can truly be for everyone.”
More Than a Promotion
The Bank mobilized branch and support teams nationwide to educate customers, onboard new users, and provide technical assistance throughout the campaign.
Ms. Nandi Mwiyombella, Head of Marketing and Communication, highlighted the broader impact:
“Miamala ni Fursa was more than a promotion – it was a movement. We’ve empowered customers not just with cash prizes, but with the confidence and tools to take control of their finances through digital platforms.”
BANK OF AFRICA – TANZANIA congratulated the grand prize winner from Moshi, along with all the weekly winners, for embracing digital banking. The Bank also reaffirmed its commitment to introducing more digital innovations that build a financially inclusive and digitally empowered Tanzania.
