Rais wa Zanzibar na Mwenyekiti wa Baraza la Wawakilishi, Dk. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, ameipongeza Benki ya NMB kwa kuendelea kuunga mkono shughuli mbalimbali za Serikali yake, ikiwemo Shamrashamra za Miaka 61 za Mapinduzi ya Zanzibar, ilikodhamini na kushiriki Siku ya Kitaifa ya Mazoezi na Michuano ya Kombe la Mapinduzi.
Pongezi hizo amezitoa mapema Jumatano Januari Mosi, wakati Dk. Mwinyi alipoongoza maelfu ya Wazanzibar kushiriki Siku ya Kitaifa ya Mazoezi Zanzibar kwenye Uwanja wa mnazi mmoja wilayani Wete mkoa wa kaskazini Pemba, ambayo ni sehemu tu ya shamrashamra za Miaka 61 ya Mapinduzi ya Matukufu Zanzibar, ambayo kilele chake kitakuwa Januari 12.
Dk. Mwinyi ameipongeza NMB kwa kufadhili mazoezi hayo, ambako ilikabidhi ‘tracksuit’ 100 za kuvaa viongozi, zikiwa na thamani ya Sh. Mil. 9, huku ikidhamini Michuano ya Kombe la Mapinduzi (Mapinduzi Cup 2025) kwa Sh. Mil. 50, mchango uliomsukuma Rais Mwinyi kuiomba taasisi hiyo kudumisha mashirikiano hayo.
“Niwashukuru sana Benki ya NMB kwa kuendelea kuunga mkono shughuli mbalimbali za Serikali ya Mapinduzi ya Zanzibar (SMZ) na hata Serikali ya Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania. Wameshiriki pakubwa katika tukio hili muhimu kwa mustakabali wa Afya za Wazanzibar, wameshiriki na kutufanya tupendeze kwa sare walizotoa."
“Hongereni sana NMB na kimsingi Serikali ya Mapinduzi ya Zanzibar, inatambua, inathamini na kujali mchango wenu mkubwa kwa maendeleo na ustawi wa Wazanzibar. SMZ inaamini mtaendelea kushirikiana nayo katika kuharakisha maendeleo ya mtu mmoja mmoja na taifa,” alisema Dk. Mwinyi katika mazoezi hayo.
Naye Meneja wa NMB Kanda ya Zanzibar, Bi. Naima Said Shaame, alisema benki yake imekuwa mshirika mkubwa wa shughuli mbalimbali za Serikali ya Zanzibar na ile ya Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania, ikiwemo Sherehe za Mapinduzi ya Zanzibar, inakodhamini kwa miaka 12 sasa.
“Huu ni mwaka wa 12 sasa NMB inashirikiana na SMZ kufanikisha Sherehe za Mapinduzi, ambako mwaka huu tumekabidhi ‘tracksuit’ za mazoezi 100 zenye thamani ya Sh. Mil. 9, tukiamini kwamba mchango huo utakuwa chachu ya kuhamasisha mazoezi vizsiwani Zanzibar na Tanzania kwa ujumla wake."
“Pia, tumetoa Sh. Mil. 50 kudhamini Kombe la Mapinduzi, udhamini ambao pamoja na ‘tracksuit’ hizo, tunaamini kwamba, ni kilelezo na uthibitisho wa dhati kuwa NMB inathamini michezo, kwani afya zetu zinaimarika zaidi kupitia michezo na uimara wa afya ndio chachu ya kukua kiuchumi kwa mtu mmoja mmoja na Taifa kwa ujumla."
The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the House of Representatives, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has praised NMB Bank PLC for its ongoing support of various government initiatives, including the 61st Anniversary Celebrations of the Zanzibar Revolution (Mapinduzi). NMB sponsored and participated in the National exercise day as well as the Mapinduzi Cup tournament.
President Mwinyi expressed his gratitude on Wednesday, January 1st, while leading thousands of Zanzibaris in the National Exercise Day at the Mnazi Mmoja grounds in Wete District of North Pemba Region. This event is part of the celebrations marking 61 years of the Zanzibar Revolution, culminating on January 12th.
Dr. Mwinyi commended NMB for funding the exercises and providing 100 tracksuits for leaders, valued at TZS 9 million. The bank also sponsored the Revolution Cup 2025 with TZS 50 million, prompting him to encourage the continued partnership.
"I extend my sincere thanks to NMB Bank for continuously supporting various activities of the Zanzibar Revolutionary Government (SMZ) and even the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania. Their significant participation in this event is crucial for the health of Zanzibaris, and they have enhanced our appearance with the attire provided," Dr. Mwinyi remarked.
He emphasized that the Zanzibar Revolutionary Government recognizes and appreciates NMB's significant contributions to the development and welfare of Zanzibaris, expressing confidence that the cooperation will continue.
NMB's Zanzibar Regional Manager, Ms. Naima Said Shaame, stated that the bank has been a long-time partner of both the Zanzibar government and the United Republic of Tanzania, sponsoring the Revolutionary Celebrations for 12 years.
"This marks the 12th year that NMB has collaborated with the SMZ to facilitate the Revolutionary Celebrations. This year, we have provided 100 exercise tracksuits worth TZS 9 million, believing this contribution will promote exercise in Zanzibar and throughout Tanzania," Ms. Naima explained.
Additionally, Ms. Shaame highlighted the TZS 50 million sponsorship for the Revolution Cup, noting that both the sponsorship and the tracksuits demonstrate NMB's commitment to sports, as they enhance our health which is vital for economic growth.
