NMB BANK LAUNCHES 4TH EDITION OF "BONGE LA MPANGO" CAMPAIGNS
NMB Bank has unveiled the latest edition of its "Bonge la Mpango" savings and deposits mobilization campaign, offering participants a chance to win exciting prizes valued at over TZS 150 million.
The bank launched the promotion in Dar es Salaam, where Chief Retail Banking Officer, Filbert Mponzi announced that participants will win various prizes, including cash rewards.
Mr. Mponzi explained that winners will be selected through weekly and monthly draws, with the campaign culminating in a grand finale raffle where the overall victor will receive a top prize of TZS 100 million in cash.
“This is not pocket money but also capital that can be used for investment in business ventures and acquisition of property and many other important things,” he told Kariakoo traders and entrepreneurs who were the majority attendees of the event, noting that the 12-week competition was for all Tanzanians.
“Even those who are currently not our customers are eligible provided they open an NMB bank account and deposit at least TZS 100,000 through our extensive market reach, currently comprising a network of 239 branches and over 40,000 agents across the country.”
In addition to the fabulous prizes, the three-month NMB Bonge la Mpango campaign dubbed “Mchongo Nd’o Huu” that will end in December also offers other benefits to individual customers and groups such as traders and farmers.
Mr. Mponzi said the benefits include the opportunity to save and increase savings for individuals whereas traders, farmers and the like who transact more through the bank will be readily offered loans.
“The more you deposit, the higher your chances of winning various prizes, including household items such as TVs, washing machines, gas cookers, refrigerators, as well as power tillers and three-wheelers,” he stated, emphasizing that the primary goal of the campaign is to encourage customers to save and increase their deposits.
During weekly draws there will be 10 winners of TZS 100,000/- each while another nine will win any of the household items. There will also be eight cash winners for two months who will pocket TZS 5 million each every month.
In the grand finale, Mr. Mponzi said apart from the cash prize, six customers will walk away with power tillers whereas another 10 will win a 3-wheeler each.
The launch of this year’s edition of NMB Bonge la Mpango was officiated by Dar es Salaam Regional Administrative Officer, Dr. Toba Nguvila, who underscored the importance of saving and fostering a culture of financial responsibility.
Highlighting that his NMB account has been active for 21 years, he praised the bank as a leading financial institution playing a pivotal role in supporting President Samia Suluhu Hassan's vision to alleviate poverty and financially empower traders and entrepreneurs across the country.
“The Bonge la Mpango campaign is a noble idea that promotes a savings culture which is important for contingent spending and when it comes to where to safely keep your money, NMB Bank should be your choice,” Dr. Nguvila told the Kariakoo traders, who he advised to avoid loan sharks.
The chair of Kariakoo Traders Association, Mr. Martin Mbwana, said they have benefitted a lot as customers of the bank.
