STANBIC LAUNCHES CYBER SECURITY DEVT. PROGRAM

Testament to it’s purpose, Tanzania is our home, we drive her growth, Stanbic Bank Tanzania has launched a ground-breaking ICT Skills Development Programme aimed at developing talent in Cyber Security in order to bridge the Cyber Security skills gap in the market. The launch took place at the university of Dodoma over the weekend and was witnessed by students and lecturers of the university.

Speaking during the launch, Stanbic Bank Head of IT, Mussa Ally said, “As an institutions, we recognize the need to contribute to the community in a meaningful and lasting way. Hence, we are proud to launch the ICT Skills Development Program (ISDP) in partnership with University of Dodoma.”

Through the programme, the bank aims to equip the top 10 students with advanced knowledge and skills, providing them with professional recognition in the cybersecurity domain. The initiative opens doors to diverse career opportunities, enhancing practical skills and knowledge - creating experts that are more competitive in the job market.

On his part, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Dodoma, Professor Lughano Kusiluka, urged the students to work hard and join the programme, recognizing the university’s ambition to become an ICT hub in the country.

Commenting on the programme, Stanbic Bank Head of Cyber Security, Jumanne Makame said, “We are witnessing a surge in cyber threats and challenges that require a new breed of skilled professionals to safeguard our digital landscape. I encourage you to see this opportunity as a steppingstone to becoming leaders and influencers in the cybersecurity space. He added that the ICT skills development programme goes beyond basic learning. It is a commitment to nurture true experts who, armed with recognized certifications, will play a pivotal role in fortifying our digital defenses. “We've chosen to partner with University of Dodoma because we believe in your ability to produce not just graduates but leaders in the field of cybersecurity.”

The bank aspires to sponsor even more students in the future, creating a ripple effect that will contribute to a more secure digital environment for us all, shape a future where our community is braced against cyber threats, and our students emerge as leaders in the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity.
