SBL LAUNCHES "LEARNING FOR LIFE PROGRAM" IN HANANG

Hanang District, (18/09/2023) - Serengeti Breweries Limited is excited to announce the launch of the "Learning for Life Program” for the youth in Hanang District. This initiative underscores Serengeti Breweries Limited commitment to empower more than 400 youth in Hanang with essential skills and knowledge for personal development, entrepreneurial prowess, financial management, and effective business planning. Serengeti Breweries Limited is excited to announce that the training is scheduled to commence on September 18, 2023, and conclude on September 21, 2023.

The Learning for Life workshop aligns seamlessly with Hanang District's vision to excel in providing high-quality and sustainable services by 2025. By equipping our youth with the necessary skills, we contribute to the district's mission of enhancing socio-economic services through optimal resource utilization.

The Manyara Regional Commissioner Hon. Queen Cuthbert Sendiga remarked, “I am thrilled to see the Learning for Life Training taking place in Hanang District. This initiative holds great significance for our region and aligns perfectly with Hanang District's vision to excel in providing high-quality and sustainable services by 2025.This initiative will not only empower our youth but also contribute to the economic growth and development of Hanang District. It will create a pool of skilled and resourceful individuals who can drive positive change and innovation in our community.”

Tanzania boasts a youth population of approximately 64% of the total, yet youth unemployment remains a critical concern, with rates as high as 13.6% for those aged 15-24. Limited access to quality skills training compounds this issue, particularly in Hanang District, where the youth comprise about 70% of the population. It is imperative to address this challenge head-on.

The "Learning for Life" initiative offers a transformative workshop designed to empower the youth with skills for self-employment and job creation. Serengeti Breweries Limited primary goal is to assist them in identifying opportunities and effectively harnessing them. The workshop facilitates networking, learning from experts, and gaining practical insights into various industries, all with the aim of reducing unemployment, alleviating poverty, and creating a brighter future for the youth of Hanang District.

According to Rispa Hatibu, the Communications and Sustainability Manager of Serengeti Breweries Limited, "Serengeti Breweries Limited believes that investing in the youth is securing the future of our community. Through the Learning for Life program, Serengeti Breweries Limited is not only imparting skills but also nurturing the potential of Hanang's young people to be leaders, entrepreneurs, and contributors to the growth and prosperity of the district."
