DAR ES SALAAM, 27th Dec 2022 - Tanzania Institute of Managers, a training institute launched Top 100 Executive List 2022 over the weekend. Top 100 Executive List this year celebrates excellence and leadership in Tanzania. The Tanzania Top 100 Executive List 2022 is organized by the Tanzanian Institute of Managers. The institute recognizes that good management is the single most influential factor in the success of any enterprise.

The Top 100 Executive List was established last year and is now a yearly celebration of the individual and collective successes of Tanzania's trailblazing business leaders.

The Founder and Chairman of Eastern Star Consulting Group, Deogratius Kalawe said “We decided to recognize excellence this year after last year's celebration of corporate executives' performances. As a country, we think it's important to set an example for other managers and executives in terms of what excellence looks like. Integrity and excellence need to be encouraged in our businesses. We think we are laying the groundwork for the development of managers and executives who operate with integrity and value their reputations and careers through the programs we provide at the Tanzania Institute of Managers (TIM).”

He added “We began the voting process earlier this year we have encouraged executives to to nominate and recommend any senior executives with corporate level KPIs for consideration. We are aware that the question of how we determine the winners may come up. Many people in this room may not know that I personally know around 90% of those present. This is the reason we made the choice to work with the well-known, global auditing firm KPMG this year.”

The Prime Minister, Hon. Kassim Majaliwa said “I would like you to find out how these awards have impacted the lives of the leaders. I also agree that this project should be held in neighbouring countries. We East Africans are better able to work together and grow as Africans as a result of this. We must serve as role models for both the country and the rest of the world. As was previously indicated, we must show off the excellent ethics that our country possesses.”

He also added, “We as Leaders also need to portray to the younger generation that being a good Leader means being a hard worker and living up to what you have been taught in university but also in our families. You cannot be a leader if you are lazy and if you do not believe in yourself. We are in the middle of the World Cup that is taking place in Doha, Qatar right now. These players did not reach where they are by accident. It most probably looks like magic but skills definitely come from investment that has been made. Instinct comes from practice. The muscle memory comes from the exercise and fluency is from the repetition. Therefore, to be the best in the class without commitment and passion is like living without being born. Hence, excellence comes from dedication, loving what you do and perseverance.”
