TANZANIA LEAPS IN GLOBAL CORRUPTION INDEX

 

Tanzania has climbed seven places to secure the 94th position in the 2020 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) released last week.

The East African nation amassed 38 points, out of possible 100, making it the second least corrupt country in the region having posted a significant improvement in the findings which ranks 180 countries on a scale from 100 (very clean) to 1 (highly corrupt).  

Rwanda comes first in the region in the index released by Berlin-based Transparency International, having collected a total of 54 points ranking number 49 globally.
