AIRTEL, DAR ES SALAAM STOCK EXCHANGE PARTNER TO LAUNCH MOBILE TRADING PLATFORM

Dar es Salaam 16 Feb 2021: Airtel Tanzania the Smartphone Network through Airtel Money brand has in partnership with the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE), announced a launch of Mobile Trading, which allows Airtel Money Customers to open their trading accounts, buy and sell stocks, IPO’s and receive payments through Airtel Money wallet.

The Mobile Trading Platform (MTP) commonly known as “Hisa Kiganjani” aims to ease investors' investment activities through enhancing direct access to DSE’s secure trading platform. The innovation is expected to create trading efficiency to existing investors and bring in new investors who are currently not served due to inaccessibility of the DSE securities trading platform.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam during the launch the Airtel Tanzania Director of Airtel Money Isack Nchunda said that the DSE Mobile Trading platform is a new landmark to improve investors experience. “DSE in collaboration with Development Partner (FSDT) and the Government managed to develop a Mobile Trading Platform (MTP). Through MTP Airtel Tanzania as a leading mobile service provider, will offer NUNUA HISA with Airtel Money to Tanzanian to invest easily using Airtel Money service where customer can open trading accounts, buy and sell stocks and receive payments’.

‘Airtel Money has always been looking for innovative ways to fulfill our customer’s day to day needs, like the convenience of ease bill payments, instant, Secure, borderless now Airtel Money is launching buying shares through Airtel Money which will allow Airtel Money customers to buy shares and IPO’s through Airtel Money conveniently from anywhere at any time’, said Nchunda adding that both young and old are looking to invest and simultaneously save time as much as possible, Airtel Money in this partnership with DSE shall guarantee customers convenience.

  • Select buy shares
  • Select the letter for the company to buy
  • Select company
  • Enter the number of shares to buy
  • Enter buying price
  • Select the buying agent
  • Allow the agent to send again the order for you to buy
  • Select Yes
  • Select the account to buy
  • Enter CSD PIN
  • Buy shares, continue with payment
  • Enter PIN to confirm to confirm transaction.

On behalf of DSE, Business Development Director, Mr. Ibrahim Mshindo said that the Hisa Kiganjani MTP aims to ease investors' investment activities through enhancement on the direct access to DSE’s securities trading platform. The innovation through NUNUA HISA is expected to increase trading efficiency to existing investors and bring in new investors, who are currently not served due to inaccessibility of the DSE securities trading platform.

He added that the DSE Mobile trading platform “DSE Hisa Kiganjani App and USSD” has security features that allow customers to make safe and secure transactions. ‘The Hisa Kiganjani has several benefits which includes, easy access to products and services, convenience, cost reduction, transparency and investors protection.
