TANZANIA MORTGAGE DEBT SOARS TO 438BN/-

The outstanding mortgage debt in Tanzania climbed to TShs 438.58 billion in the year ended 2019 compared to TShs 421.07 billion in the preceding year, a sign of increased awareness on the use of mortgage loans for building or buying houses.

According to the Tanzania mortgage market update for the year ended December 2019, the average mortgage debt size was TShs 80.33 million.
