PRESIDENT ALI MOHAMED SHEIN LEAVES FOR INDONESIA

Zanzibar - President Ali Mohamed Shein (pictured) and a delegation of high-ranking officials departed here on Monday for Indonesia on a five-day visit which starts at the invitation of Indonesia’s Vice-President Mohamed Jusuf Kalla.

According to a press statement from the Zanzibar State House, Dr Shein among other things is scheduled to visit Indonesia’s famous Tourist Island of Bali where he will also visit the University of Udayana-Jimbaran on the Island.

While in Indonesia, President Shein is scheduled to meet the Bali Island Tourism management after official talks with his host and officers from the government and private sector.

“The timetable also includes meeting members of the Indonesia Chamber of Commerce to exchange business and investment ideas. Zanzibar has a lot to learn from Indonesia,” the press release said.

It is said that Dr Shein and his delegation are scheduled to visit fishing company, Harapan-Kita hospital, coconut oil factory, some rice farms and seaweed processing factory.

Zanzibar’s delegation to Indonesia include First Lady Mwanamwema Shein, Trade Minister Ambassador Amina Salum Ali, State Minister Issa Ussi Haji (Gavu), Deputy Foreign Minister Susan Kolimba and Economic Affairs Advisor to Dr Shein Ambassador Mohamed Ramia.

Others in the delegation are Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture Mariam Sadalla, acting Director of Foreign Affairs- Zanzibar Ambassador Mohamed Haji Hamza and Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA) Director Salum Khamis Nassor.
