The company will now offer motor insurance products covering fire, fidelity, marine, and burglary, to mention but a few.
“Our focus is to add more to our lines of services and reach more people from various segments of the economy,” said the company’s chief executive officer, Mr. Kain Mbaya, at the weekend.
“The health insurance is very challenging as many people cannot afford to pay for premiums and yet no adequate premium financing sources were in place, thus in most cases, it was the task of employers to insure their staff,” he said.
He said the company is planning to introduce agricultural insurance and micro insurance, adding that it has begun the process of preparing the system.
Speaking during the event, Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (Tira) commissioner Dr. Baghayo Saqware called on the company to consider venturing into agri-insurance, saying it’s an area with a huge demand for cover.
