A group of Barclays employees were also at the University to equip the students with important life and professional skills. For the graduates, Barclays is availing them with two channels to join the bank i.e.
1) As an entry level graduate or postgraduate candidate though the resourcing process being followed that will allow more than 20 candidates to join the bank every year.
2) A special ‘Graduate Development Program’ running in partnership with Delloite and Touché, providing opportunities for high calibre - high potential graduates aiming at developing future leaders of the bank.
Both channels aim at providing a consistent talent pipeline to meet current and future Human capital demands, taping from more than 300 years of experience and gathered knowledge to train and grow local talent via classroom, on-the job learning, inter-Africa mobility plan as well as global exposure.
Speaking at this year’s event at UDSM, the Head of Human Resources, Barclays Bank Tanzania Limited, Patrick Foya commented, “The programmes enable individuals to kick-start and build a successful career through a well-structured programme that is geared to just do that. Individuals who undertake the programmes will be sure to realise their long-term professional career aspirations all under one roof.” Further commenting with regards to the banks Scholarship program.
The BBT Citizenship Manager, Hellen Siria said " This Scholarship programme's main objective is to provide qualified students with access to education which will help them in achieveing their career goals and provide Tanzania with human capital that is ready to contribute towards improving the country’s economy"
