Speaking during the launch of the service at St Augustine University (SAUT) Mwanza at the weekend, Airtel Lake Zonal Sales Manager, Mr Raphael Daudi said: “Airtel UNI Wi-Fi service is designed to provide students with affordable high speed internet to enable them carry out research and access a wide range of academic information.”
He said the internet is no longer a luxurious facility but a vital component in social and economic development for various communities.
The Internet is of late more important for those in pursuit of knowledge in academic establishments and other institutions.
“Today we are profoundly happy to enable the SAUT community have easy and reliable access to high speed internet at affordable cost through UNI Wi-Fi,” Mr Daudi stressed.
