Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, March 13th 2015 – The Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), a global business network of over 11,000 business owners in 144 chapters across 46 countries, launched its newest chapter in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania on Friday, March 13, 2015.

Founded in 1987 by a group of entrepreneurs, EO enables business owners to learn from one another, leading to greater business success and an enriched personal life. EO’s vision is to build the world's most influential entrepreneur community.

As a global business owner network & association, EO helps to transform the lives of the entrepreneurs who transform the world. EO educates, transforms, and inspires by providing invaluable resources in the form of events, leadership-development programs, and business owner education opportunities designed for business growth.

Over 100 members and guests, including EO members from across East Africa, leading Tanzanian entrepreneurs, thought leaders and VIPs, joined incoming EO Global Chairman, Mr. Gilberto Crombé, to launch the first Tanzanian chapter at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Dar-es-Salaam.

Mr. Crombé said “The launching of our newest chapter in Dar-es-Salaam is the perfect highlight to a pan African Tour which took an in-depth, strategic look at the entrepreneurship ecosystems across Lagos/Nigeria, Nairobi/Kenya & Dar-es-Salaam/Tanzania. Leading business owners the world over value support from a peer-to-peer community like EO, which inherently becomes attributed to both their personal and professional successes.”

The keynote address, “Boosting Entrepreneurship in Tanzania,” was given by Patrick Ngowi, Founder & CEO of Helvetic Group and winner of KPMG’s Top 100 Mid-Sized Companies 2013, as well as being on Forbes’ 30 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs in Africa 2014.

Nicholas Thiede, a long-standing EO member and founding President of the Dar-es-Salaam chapter said, “Dar-es-Salaam is home to many of the country’s leading businesses led by highly dynamic entrepreneurs. As a formal network of business owners, EO will enable peer-to-peer exchanges and learning experiences that transcend boundaries such as business sector, business life cycle or geography. Our member companies range from the well established to start-ups, and while the minimum criteria is $1m in turnover per year, most of our member companies are significantly larger.”
