BARCLAYS LOOK TO RETAIN TITLE IN NEXT WEEK'S BLOOMBERG SQUARE MILE RELAY

London’s biggest firms ‘run this city’ around The City’s key landmarks.

On 4th September 2014 London’s biggest firms will compete in The Bloomberg Square Mile Relay - the ultimate corporate running race - to see who really ‘runs this city’.

Teams of 10 runners each from the City’s biggest firms are currently training hard to take on the mile-long course that sends each team member through winding streets, up stairways and across bridges.

Once the horn sounds at 6.45pm, over 1,000 Londoners will be heading from Guildhall Yard down Gresham Street and along the London Wall before heading back and handing their baton on to a team-mate.

The teams will be competing not only for the chance to be crowned the ‘fastest’ in the city, but also for a £5,000 cheque to donate to a charity of their choice.

Reigning champions Barclays will be under pressure to retain the title after two consecutive years at the top. Previous challengers include Macquarie Bank, Legal & General, Bank of America, Credit Suisse, JP Morgan, Rothschild and Slaughter & May, amongst many others.

Registration for the race is now open
