THE Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) has won in two categories at the ongoing 38th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF).
EPZA was named during the official opening of the fair at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Trade fair grounds by the Second Vice president of Zanzibar, Amb. Idd Seif in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday.
The authority was named a winner in the two categories of Best SMEs Development and Trade Support Organisation and a Best Export Product Exhibitors.
The EPZA Director General, Dr Adelhelm Meru, said the awards were a result of the efforts by the authority to serve both local and foreign investors.
"We are showing the public what we have achieved so far since our establishment," she said. She said that the public will have an opportunity to know industries that have invested in Tanzania under EPZA and how they are contributing to the nation's economic development.
"We call upon people to come and visit us...this is the public institution...they should know it well," she said.
She noted that this is also a unique chance for investors to have a clear picture of opportunities found at the authority. Over 33 countries are taking part in this year's exhibition. 500 companies feature in 38th DITF.
