Dar es Salaam, Tanzania — Vodacom Tanzania Plc continues to strengthen its commitment to youth empowerment and digital inclusion through the Code Like a Girl programme, an initiative aimed at equipping young women with essential digital and coding skills to enhance their participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
The graduation ceremony, held in Dar es Salaam on Friday, marked an important milestone for female students who successfully completed the programme.
Implemented by Vodacom Tanzania in partnership with dLab, Code Like a Girl is designed to bridge the digital skills gap among young women by providing practical training in coding, digital literacy, and emerging technologies. The initiative aligns with national and global efforts to promote gender equality and inclusion in the technology sector, where women remain underrepresented.
Speaking at the ceremony, representatives from both organisations highlighted the importance of empowering young women with future-ready skills, noting that digital competencies are increasingly critical for employability, entrepreneurship, and innovation in today’s economy.
Through initiatives such as Code Like a Girl, Vodacom Tanzania continues to play a key role in nurturing local talent, supporting youth development, and advancing inclusive digital transformation across the country.
