According to the Marketing Manager of Hidromek Mr. Hillary Samuel said, “As Tanzania’s fuel prices are very high as it is a challenge for many construction companies however Hidromek is the best solution currently in the market as it is very fuel efficient. Hidromek construction and logistics equipment offer a solution to the bad roads in Tanzania and East Africa and we are currently in talks with the government of Tanzania to loan this equipment. Following the first Foreign Ministerial visit from Tanzania to Turkey by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Tanzania Mr. Bernand Membe the Foreign Ministers of the two countries exchanged views on bilateral as well as regional issues. During his speech the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu noted,  “More Turkish investments is likely to flow into the country this year: The trade volume between Turkey and Tanzania was $63Million in 2009, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu indicated that the trade volume has increased up to $183Billion in the last 5 years following the opening of the Turkish Embassy in Tanzania.”

In addition, Turkey & Tanzania Chamber of Commerce (TTCC), an association aimed to improve industry contacts between Turkey and Tanzania highlighted, “With the official registration of the association we hope to promote social and economic relations between Turkey and Tanzania, while providing members with a broad spectrum of services and new opportunities to the Turkish and Tanzanian businessmen with regards to trade, industry, agriculture, construction, mining, NGOs, manufacturing, professional activities and other related activities. Our records shows that there are 25 Turkish companies already investing in Tanzania by last January.”

The Turkish government has set aside $500Billion of exports value between now and 2023 when the country will celebrate 100 years of independence, we hope that a fair amount of this money will come to Africa and particularly Tanzania and we look forward to the general co-operation from the government and the people as many Turkish businesses are now expanding into Tanzania.
