Dar es Salaam – August 24, 2024: The NCBA Golf Series has landed in Dar es Salaam at the Gymkhana Golf Club, following the success of the initial leg in Arusha on June 29, 2024, which was attended by Honorable Damas Ndumbaro, the Minister of Culture, Arts, and Sports.
According to NCBA Bank, the Dar es Salaam edition is set to elevate the competition, attracting a diverse array of golfing talents, much like those seen in the 2023 edition, including standout players such as George Ogutu and Salim Sharif. The event is expected to draw distinguished CEOs, executives, and officials, all vying for prestigious prizes.
NCBA Bank disclosed that the winner of this year's tournament would be awarded a customized NCBA Golf Bag valued at 3 million Tanzanian Shillings and will also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Nairobi to participate in the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale in November. The bank emphasized that this prize reflects its commitment to elevating Tanzanian golf to the international stage, providing local talent with the opportunity to showcase their skills on some of Kenya’s most beautiful courses.
In a statement, Claver Serumaga, CEO/MD of NCBA Bank Tanzania, mentioned that the event at the Gymkhana Golf Club was designed to be of international standard, reiterating NCBA's commitment to promoting Tanzanian talent and advancing golf as a sport. He noted that the tournament is set to demonstrate NCBA's dedication through action.
Additionally, NCBA Bank announced that this year’s tournament would include a financial empowerment package titled "Maisha Ni Hesabu Na NCBA," aimed at providing attendees with valuable financial insights to help them manage, spend, and invest their money effectively.
