PUMA ENERGY LAUNCHES PRIS, TANZANIA’S FIRST FULLY INTEGRATED FUEL LOYALTY APP

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania — Puma Energy Tanzania has officially launched PRIS, the country’s first fully integrated fuel loyalty application, marking a major milestone in enhancing customer experience and accelerating digital innovation within Tanzania’s energy sector.

The newly introduced PRIS platform allows customers to earn loyalty points on fuel, lubricants, and purchases made at Puma Energy convenience stores. The accumulated points can then be redeemed for a wide range of rewards, including groceries, meals, and fuel benefits through Puma Energy’s expanding partner network.

The launch also aligns with Tanzania’s national digital transformation agenda under the Digital Economy Strategic Framework (DESF) 2024–2034, which seeks to position the country as a regional digital hub through improved infrastructure, enhanced financial inclusion, and accelerated economic growth.

Speaking during the launch event in Dar es Salaam, Managing Director of Puma Energy Tanzania, Fatma Abdallah, emphasized the strategic importance of the initiative and the company’s commitment to customer-focused innovation.

PRIS reflects our commitment to putting customers at the heart of everything we do. As a company, we are continuously investing in solutions that deliver real value to Tanzanians. This platform transforms everyday purchases into meaningful rewards, while also supporting the country’s broader digital and economic ambitions,” she said.

Designed with simplicity and accessibility at its core, the PRIS app enables customers to register using their mobile numbers and begin earning points immediately by presenting a QR code at the point of purchase. Once enough points have been accumulated, users can redeem them on future purchases, including groceries at Puma convenience stores and discounts on fuel purchases.

Providing further insights into the platform’s functionality, Puma Energy Tanzania Retail Manager, Sulpis Mmasi, noted that the application has been developed to offer customers a seamless and transparent loyalty experience.

The PRIS app is designed to be simple, accessible, and rewarding. Customers earn points every time they fuel, which can be redeemed on subsequent purchases across a growing ecosystem of partners. Beyond the rewards, the app offers a seamless and transparent experience, empowering customers to track and manage their spending,” he explained.

The introduction of PRIS further supports Tanzania’s transition toward a more digitally inclusive and cashless economy by promoting convenience, transparency, and customer engagement.

Puma Energy noted that PRIS has already been successfully implemented in several African markets where the company operates, including Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Botswana, where the platform has recorded strong customer adoption and engagement.

Customers across Tanzania can begin downloading the PRIS application immediately, with rollout across Puma Energy service stations expected to expand rapidly in the coming weeks.

How the Puma PRIS App Works

  1. Download the PRIS app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store (less than 85 MB).
  2. Register using your mobile number.
  3. Purchase fuel or shop items using cash or card and earn loyalty points.
  4. Present a QR code or mobile number at checkout for points to be credited instantly.
  5. Redeem accumulated points for groceries, fuel savings, and other rewards.

Customers can also earn additional points by referring friends and family to the platform.
