KILOMBERO SUGAR URGES FARMERS TO CAPITALIZE ON K4 FACTORY EXPANSION AT NANE NANE FESTIVAL

Dodoma, 8 August 2024: Kilombero Sugar Company has participated in this year's Nane Nane festival, held from August 1st to 8th in Dodoma and Morogoro regions respectively. The company sees the festival as a prime opportunity to engage with farmers and the agricultural community, showcasing the benefits of the K4 Factory expansion.

The annual Nane Nane festival serves as a hub for farmers, agricultural stakeholders, and the public to explore the latest advancements in agriculture. Kilombero Sugar Company's involvement highlights its dedication to supporting and uplifting the local farming community.

The K4 factory expansion which is set for completion by June 2025, will significantly boost sugar production capacity. This project aims to meet the increasing demand for sugar while creating numerous opportunities for local farmers. The expanded capacity will enable Kilombero Sugar Company to source more sugarcane from farmers, thus increasing their incomes and contributing to regional economic development.

Speaking at a media briefing in Dodoma, Victor Byemelwa, Communications and Stakeholders Relations Manager for Kilombero Sugar Company, underscored the importance of the initiative. "The Nane Nane festival is a vital platform for us to connect with our farmers and the wider agricultural community. The expansion of the K4 factory represents a significant milestone for Kilombero Sugar Company and the local economy. We are committed to ensuring farmers understand the opportunities available to them and how they can benefit from this project. By increasing our production capacity, we can support more farmers, boost their incomes, and drive economic growth in Tanzania."

At the festival, Kilombero Sugar Company presented various aspects of the K4 factory expansion and provided detailed information on how farmers can leverage the new opportunities. The company also offered educational sessions on best practices in sugarcane farming to enhance productivity and sustainability.
