Superbrands aims to identify and acknowledge the most outstanding brands which have established the finest reputation in their respective fields following a strict selection process by the Superbrands council and consumers from across East Africa.
Speaking during the certificate award ceremony held in Dar es Salaam recently, the NMB Bank Treasurer, Aziz Chacha said the Superbrands status means a lot to the bank and underlines the bank’s ambition of being a bank of choice.
“This would not have been possible without the support of our loyal customers who have been with us through all these years. As a bank, we are glad that our customers have been able to identify with us as a brand,” he said.
He noted that the bank is committed to creating a shared value for all its stakeholders including shareholders, customers and communities where the bank operates.
He thanked all the regulatory authorities including Bank of Tanzania (BOT), Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) and Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA) for working closely with the bank over the years.
Earlier, Jawad Jaffer the Superbrands Project Director and Associate Publisher said attaining Superbrands status strengthens a brands position, adds prestige and reassures consumers and suppliers that they are buying the best brand in its category.
“A Superbrand offers consumers’ significant emotional and/or physical advantages over its competitors which consumers want, recognise and are willing to pay a premium for,” he noted.
Jaffer said the Volume 8 of this year’s Superbrands has also awarded four other local companies that include GSM, Kilimanjaro Drinking Water, Dar Ceramic and NIC Insurance/.
“Receiving the Superbrand status is one thing. Maintaining it is another. I take this moment to remind all companies that have received this status today to work around the clock to ensure that they maintain it,” he stressed.
He said all the five companies that received Superbrand status will be awarded during a gala night scheduled to take place next year.
