JENGA HUB TEAMS UP WITH 'KIDS FINANCE WITH TRACY' TO LAUNCH DIGITAL AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP BOOTCAMP FOR CHILDREN

Dar es Salaam, 25.08.2021 – Kids Finance with Tracy a business founded by an 11 year old girl, Tracy Rabi has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ms Nancy Sumari, former Miss Tanzania and Founder of Jenga Hub to empower Tanzanian children with Digital, Entrepreneurship and Finance education.

The partnership also includes, Natokaje Kidigitali, founded by Getrude Mligo. Natokaje kidigitali has linked children of age 8-17 with successful local businessman, Mohammed Dewji and digital legends like Gillsant Mlaseko. Giving children the opportunity to learn from the finest talent in the country.

Ms Sumari has been running a successful hub that has for over 3 years now has helped children experiment with technology through coding classes, animation classes and more.

A 11year old, Tracy Rabi not only writes financial and entrepreneurship books for children, but also founded The Tanzania Youth Entrepreneurship Experience Fair that brings together children with entrepreneurship projects to showcase and sell their products to other children, as an avenue for children to experiment and practically learn entrepreneurship skills from a young age.

These three entities coming together, gives a unique opportunity for Tanzanian children to increase their chances of success in the world of entrepreneurship as well as produce skilled workforce for the country.

This also goes in line with the Government’s goal of ensuring that the next generation have access to technology and are equipped with the necessary digital skills to excel in a technology-driven world should not be underestimated. Improving access to technology is one that is high on the agenda within the telecommunications sector in particular, especially in ways that benefit the younger generations.

This Children Bootcamp will run bi-annually from 2021 and is set to empower over 200 children annually from across the country.

“I believe, it is never too early for children to learn about money and entrepreneurship, (as children) we spend over 16 years in school acquiring skills to help us make money, it is crucial that children are empowered with money making, money keeping and money growing skills to help them avoid poverty or debt traps caused by lack of financial education.” said Miss Tracy Rabi.

“Children should understand basic saving, the value of money, investment, from starting a business to running a business skills. It’s almost a basic human right, if you would ask me” added Miss Rabi

Ms Sumari adds “We are committed to bringing change and create new skills for kids in the following categories;

● Financial education.

● Digital education.

● Entrepreneurship.

“We are also very excited at what the future holds for children and the programs available for them and Tracy from Kids Finance with Tracy who demonstrates that even young children can acquire skills and aim to become successful business persons. The skills are there to be acquired and with the current world that we live in, digital skills are becoming a must for our success.” She added.
