COCACOLA KWANZA DONATES COMPUTERS TO SECONDARY SCHOOL TO FOSTER ICT INTEGRATION IN TANZANIA EDUCATION SECTOR

Dar es Salaam - Coca-Cola kwanza Ltd has donated desktop computers to Mbezi inn secondary school to encourage Information and communication Technology integration in teaching and learning, to enable and prepare teachers and students to integrate society dominated by ICT developments. Coca-Cola kwanza donation focused on improving education sector on Learning 21st-century skills and development of student’s ICT capability and literacy. The company move ties-up up with National ICT Policy aiming on improving the quality of delivering education and training in all areas including distance learning.

Speaking during the 13th Graduation ceremony at Mbezi Inn secondary, Coca-Cola Kwanza Public Affairs and Communications Officer Mr. Victor Byemelwa said the motives behind the donation was to join hands with government efforts on Growing and Improving ICT integration in education sector. We Donated 10 computers to enable teachers, educators, school managers and leaders to use ICT effectively in their day-to-day activities leading to improved quality of education. Mr. Byemelwa call upon other key stakeholders to join the move so as together we can give students a 'tool to succeed'.

Also speaking during the event, School Board Member Varelian komu said, “Since the opening of the school back in 2005, The school was not teaching ICT due to lack of infrastructure, Coca-Cola kwanza came and donate computers on which will help us to start teaching ICT to our school, we are so happy and glad to receive this donation”.

Sylvia Julius form 4 student at Mbezi inn Secondary school argued that, we thank Coca-Cola kwanza for their donation, they came and see our challenge and solve it, so now we will be learning ICT and be part of 21century generation.

Coca-Cola Kwanza has been actively involved in supporting the government in education sector in resolving the challenge of school desks shortages by making schools desks out of treated pallets that are imported with concentrate and donate school desks throughout the year.

Coca-Cola Kwanza is always committed to giving back to various communities in Tanzania through partnerships with the Government, NGOs as well as various stakeholders.
