KILI PHOTO CANVAS, CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY IN PHOTOGRAPHY USED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE WORLD BY A LOCAL COMPANY

Each year, Tanzanians and Citizens from all corners of the world meet in Moshi in Kilimanjaro to participate in the famous "Kili Marathon" that is sponsored by Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) through its Kilimanjaro Premium Lager beer. Kilimanjaro has been sponsoring the event and bringing refreshing moments to Tanzanians in Moshi for 18 years now.

In March this year, Kilimanjaro Premium Lager decided to do something different and introduced for the first time, an advanced photography technology during the marathon that placed the brand as an innovation leader globally. This technology developed by AIMGroup Tanzania is known as Kili Photo Canvas and is a unique system that captured runners' photos as they were running the marathon and sent it directly to their phone via WhatsApp.

This technology enabled the runner to enjoy their run and provided them with memories and convenience by sharing with friends and relatives through social networks. Those who participated in this year's Kili Marathon, can view their photos and download their pictures here. By entering your phone number you will be able to see your photo(s) and you can download the entire load. You can share your family and friends online with your photos using #JiachieNaKiliMarathon and don't forget to tag @kili_lager.

To facilitate this exercise the Kilimanjaro Premium lager held a painting competition where 35 artists from across Tanzania, created paintings using elements of the Kilimanjaro Premium Lager bottle and Mt. Kilimanjaro. The winners were awarded TZS. 2,000,000 prize money and the paintings were effectively used as the backdrop for the Kili Photo Canvas. To gain traction and reach, the paintings placed at various locations in Dar es Salaam and Moshi and each time runners ran past the painting a photo was captured of them and sent to their mobile phone.

There was immense public uptake of the canvas challenge with 2,144 people registering, to participate and 2,700 photo captured and shared for memories of a good run.
