The Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JCKI) topped the list of Africa's cardiac hospitals last year with the highest number of heart surgeries.
The JCKI Executive Director, Dr. Mohamed Janabi said in Dar es Salaam recently that the institute performed 1,356 heart operations last year, the highest among all cardiac facilities on the continent.
