AIRTEL TO DISBURSE 1.4BN TO AIRTEL MONEY CUSTOMERS AS DIVIDENDS

Dar es Salaam - Airtel Tanzania, the smartphone network is set to distribute TZS 1.4 billion to Airtel Money customers as dividends for their loyalty to Airtel Money service.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam recently while announcing the move, Airtel Tanzania Director of Marketing Isack Nchunda said that the divided will be distributed to all Airtel Money Agents and customers who have been using Airtel Money service across the country for the last three months January - March this year.

“Airtel Money is now paying dividends on quarterly basis. This quarter a total of TZS 1.4 billion will be distributed to all Airtel Money customers and agents. Airtel customers and agents will have the freedom to decide how to spend the money,” said Nchunda.

“This is the sixth time consecutively Airtel is giving back dividends to all Airtel Money customers and agents since 2015. Airtel gives back to Airtel Money customers and agents depending on the amount of balance one has on Airtel Money account on daily basis. So far a total of 17 billion TZS has been distributed to customers and agents countrywide, added Nchunda.

“On top of that we all know that Wrong transactions have been one of the long challenge affecting our Airtel Money customers and now we have empowered our customer to be able to reverse Airtel Money transactions sent to wrong number, also every Airtel Money customer will be to save numbers used in paying bills like LUKU number, DSTV to avoid entering wrong numbers”.

On his part, Airtel Money Manager Ibrahim Malando said starting today every Airtel Money customer will receive dividends through their Airtel Money wallet/ accounts and one can decide to use the money by either cash it out, paying various bills and services such as internet bundle, Airtel time, LUKU and so on.

“Airtel Money agents will also receive their interests through their Airtel Money accounts as usual and I therefore call on them to continue offering the best service to our customers countrywide in the coming quarter to continue enjoying their Airtel Money share quarterly,” added Malando.
