The bank through its policy of giving back to the community where it operates is also set to provide more support to community development initiatives in the country.
Speaking at a function to handover the renovated buildings in Morogoro yesterday, Exim Bank (Morogoro) Branch Manager, Mrs. Anna Wesiwasi said the bank’s heartfelt support will go a long way in upgrading the quality of life to the children living at the centre as it will help the latter live in a more conducive and healthier environment.
“As a way of being socially responsible, today we have handed over Amani Center for people with disability buildings after renovating them and making the buildings a better place for our children to live in. This is the bank’s policy of giving back to the community where it operates.
“We believe that children with disabilities should never be without hope, by participating in the community development initiatives such as this, we are giving hope to these children but also the bank becomes closer to the community, which greatly appreciates the fact that the bank shares a part of its profits in boosting their socio-economic development,” said Mrs. Anna Wesiwasi
"It is within our strong belief that by breeding a close engagement with the community, there will be a parallel growth between the bank and the community, whereby as the bank grows the community within which the bank operates will also experience growth. The bank understands that these children are the future bankers, and this help will in one way or the other help them secure a better future,” she/he added.
On his part, the centre’s director, Fr. Beatus Sewando said the Exim bank’s decision to respond to such a call is a noble decision that has to be emulated by other companies in the country.
“We are very grateful that Exim Bank has been able to lead by example in responding to our call. This support will now enable children to have a better shelter with a healthier environment. This example should be emulated by other companies as well,” he said.
