INVEST IN INDIA, TANZANIAN BUSINESSES URGED

Tanzania stands to benefit more from its cordial relations with India if members of the business community in the East African region start investing in the South Asian nation.
India's High Commissioner to Tanzania, Shri Debnath Shaw, made these remarks in Dar es Salaam at the weekend during an event organized under the India Business Forum (IBM).
According to Mr Shaw, Tanzania business people need to invest not only in Tanzania but also tap business opportunities offered with growing Indian markets. He said that out of the total Tanzania export last year, 70 per cent were destined in India. "India and Tanzania has huge business opportunities.
I urge Tanzanians to tap investment opportunities present in India so as to boost your county's economic development. Let me remind all traders that any export from Tanzania inters India market duty free," said Mr Shaw.
Mr Shaw revealed that India Business Forum (IBF) will open up doors to Tanzania businesspeople and those in India to share business experiences, skills, and technology with the aim of increasing business between the two countries hence help to boost economic development.
"Such a business union is also present in Ethiopia since 2009, many achievements have so far been observed. So I appeal to businesspeople who wish to start businesses in India to organize themselves into groups so as to benefit and expand your businesses," said Mr Shaw.
On his part IBF Chairman, Mr Gagan Gupta, insisted that having such a business partnership brings together business people and have a common say in different business issues and enable them get reliable market for their goods. He said that by using such a partnership Tanzania business people can easily link with their counterparts in India
