TANZANIA: MKURABITA GETS NEW CHIEF

PRESIDENT Jakaya Kikwete has appointed Mr John Chiligati as the new chairman of the executive committee of Property and Business Formalisation Programme (MKURABITA).

A press release issued by the State House on Friday stated that Mr Chiligati who is a Member of Parliament (MP) for Manyoni East Constituency in Singida Region, will chair the programme for three years.

Meanwhile, the Minister of State in the President's Office for Social Relations and Co-ordination, Mr Stephen Wasira has appointed eleven committee members who include Ened Munthali, who is the Coordinator for policy and planning in the President's Office, Mr John Nayopa (Assistant Commissioner for Minerals, in the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Dr Consolata D. Ishebabi, Director for Small and Medium Enterprises, Ministry of Industry and Trade and John M. Cheyo, commissioner for budget, Ministry of Finance.

Others are Prof Aldo M. Lupala, Director of Publishing and Printing Centre, Ardhi University, Gasper Luanda, Assistant Commissioner of Land in the Southern Region, Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development, Barke Mbaraka Aboud, Assistant Director for Treaties, Attorney-General's Office, Jeremia Sendoro, Director for Policy and Planning in the Prime Minister's Office, Parkshard Mkongwa, Director for Policy and Planning in the Prime Minister's Office, Salhina Mwita Ameir, Director for Planning, Policy and research, Ministry of Lands, Human Settlements and Development.

Their appointments came into effect on July 1.
