TPDC TO ATTRACT OIL AND GAS INVESTORS AT GLOBAL AFRICAN INVESTMENT SUMMIT IN LONDON

Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation is well set to present investment opportunities in the Tanzanian oil and gas sector to an audience of high caliber business executives during the Global African Investment Summit to be held at the Savoy Hotel, London in 20 - 21 October this year.
“Tanzania is of big interest to the international investment community, they want to know what next for the oil and gas sector? What is the government doing to promote responsible business? And how can they get involved? Having TPDC attend to answer these questions will help those investors identify the right projects to invest in,” Paul Sinclair, Event Director of The Global African Investment Summit said.
The Global African Investment Summit is convened by former President of Nigeria, H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo and will be lead by five current African President’s, including H.E. Jakaya Kikwete.
The business of the event will involve African government and state officials discussing investment opportunities with prominent international investors.
On the back of significant gas finds in Tanzanian waters, as well as the recently announced bids by major international firms for exploration blocks, international excitement in Tanzania’s economic potential is growing.
The Global African Investment Summit has already received significant interest from the international investment and private sector communities.  Stalwarts of the commercial world, such as Standard Chartered, PWC, Anadarko, Citi Bank, Nigerian Investment Authority, Hermes EOS, Nedbank and Baker & McKenzie, are sponsoring and speaking at the event while participants in panel discussions will include representatives from a variety of investment organizations, sovereign wealth funds, banks and multilateral institutions.
Alongside President’s Obasanjo and Kikwete there will be addresses from H.E. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda; H.E. John Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana; H.E. Faure GnassingbĂ© of the Togolese Republic and H.E. Yoweri Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda.
Each President will be accompanied by key Ministers and CEOs of state-owned companies, who will each be presenting tangible investment opportunities in their respective countries and sectors.
The inaugural Global African Investment Summit, run in partnership with four African state houses, is the only platform that brings together the public and private sectors to discuss specific transactions, access to finance, and bankable projects in Sub Saharan Africa requiring investment and technology transfer.
