Morogoro Regional Commisioner, Dr Joel Bendera, unveils a curtain at the launch of a newly renovated building of NMB Turiani branch over the weekend.
The National Microfinance Bank (NMB) has inaugurated its branch at Turiani in Mvomero District, Morogoro Region and pledged to deliver first class services.
Speaking at the opening ceremony over the weekend, the Morogoro Regional Commissioner (RC), Dr Joel Bendera, said the branch was an important catalyst for social and economic development in the area.
Dr Bendera said the branch, located at Midizini B area in Turiani, can be easily reached and expected to serve over 7,600 people including sugarcane outgrowers, farmers and traders. He urged residents of Turiani to utilise the services of the newly built branch.
NMB Eastern Zone Manager, Mr Nazareth Lebbi, said the bank would continue extending its services especially in rural areas, where many people for years have remained unbanked.
“Many people have shown interest to open accounts…we have received thousands of applications in the last few days,” the manager said.
NMB is the leading commercial bank in the country in terms of branch network and customer base. It is listed on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE), has 154 branches, over 500 ATMs and more than 2 million customers.
