“The campaign is a way for us to promote and increase awareness of the available best salary proposition to workers. Throughout this six months campaign we will reward our new Salary Account holders who couldbe existing-to-bank customers or new-to-bank customers. Through a raffle draw which will be conducted every month and a new Salary Account holder stands a chance to win up to 100 percent of their salary – hence the name “Double your salary”.

Today’s draw is the first among six draws to be conducted every month up to June, and which is divided into two groups: the first batch with three winners is for fresh customers who are establishing a relationship with the bank for the very first time, while the second group features existing Absa customers who are holders of other accounts and have taken the decision to open a Salary Account and channel their monthly pay though the respective account.

The winners of the first group of the draw are Anastazia Yohana Malambi of Moshi, who scooped 100 per cent of her salary, the second winner is Hidaya Faki Makame (Zanzibar, 75 per cent of her salary), while the third is Asha Haji Haji (Zanzibar, 50 per cent of her salary).

Speaking on the benefits of the Absa Salary Account, Mr. Genesis said, “AbsaSalary Account makes banking very easy for our customers. With our peerless digital capabilities and paperless banking a customer no longer has to queue for long to get services at the branch.

Charges to Absa Salary Account are reasonable and reflect the realistic income of an average Tanzanian, and at the same time a customer can undertake various transactions and send cash in and out of the country without any worries.”

According to the officer, other benefits of owning the Absa Salary Account include access to unsecured loans, mortgages, credit card and a debit card.

On his part, Absa Marketing and Communications Manager, Beda Biwalo, said “apart from mobilizing employers and workers to sign up to Absa’s employees banking services, the major aim of the campaign is to help bring possibilities to life and make customers realize their ambitions, which we at Absa call this Africanacity“.
