Zantel’s Senior Manager for Sales & Distribution, Haidari
Chamshama speaks to fresh University graduates working with the Telecom as
Freelance Salesmen at the company headquarters in Dar es Salaam today before
leaving with the students for field work to various places in the City. The
students are under Zantel’s program dubbed ‘Graduate Sales project’ which aims
to empower and fully train fresh University graduates in order to give them
work experience before they enter into the Corporate World.
The project is set to run for the period of one month and 95 graduates from 15 Universities in Tanzania are participating in it.
Briefing reporters at the company headquarters in Dar es salaam today, Zantel’s Senior Manager for Sales & Distribution, Haidari Chamshama said The project aims to empower fresh graduates from various Universities in Tanzania to work in the Telecom's various departments including Sales which has attracted a bigger number of the graduates.
For her part, Zantel's Brand & Communications Manager, Rukia Mtingwa said Zantel has taken fresh graduates from various Universities across Tanzania's mainland and in the Isles to train and provide them with the much needed work experience which is highly needed in the corporate world.
She added that Apart from the graduates in Dar es salaam, there are 220 Zanzibar University students who work at Telecom Call Centres in ZNZ, this is part of an agreement with the University to give the students field work experience while undertaking their studies. She said this is also an opportunity for the students to apply for permanent positions within Zantel after they graduate.
