Few days after Precision Air announced its move to suspend Dar es Salaam-Mbeya flights because of the unavailability of jet fuel at the Songwe Airport, Fastjet has come up with good news of increasing trips to Mbeya.
A statement by Precision Air Brand and Marketing Coordinator, Hillary Mremi said the airline was forced to carry on its flight to Mbeya, limiting passenger loads. The suspension, according to Mr. Mremi, will become effective on June 21.
“We believe that by doubling daily flights to Mbeya we will make more customers fly to Songwe International Airport. We will also serve more customers from countries such as Zambia and Malawi,” Fastjet Commercial Manager, Jean Uku said.
According to Ms. Uku, flight demand has been increasing.
She said further that starting June 30th, an extra frequency will be added on the Kilimanjaro route every Thursday and Saturday to take it up to three times a day, two times a week.
“Fastjet will also fly three times to Mwanza every day,” said Ms. Uku.
