NMB SIMPLIFIES GROUP FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT THROUGH NMB KIKUNDI MINI APP

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – NMB Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing digital financial inclusion with the introduction of the NMB Kikundi Mini App, an innovative solution integrated into the NMB Mkononi Super App that is transforming how community groups manage their finances.

The digital platform has been designed to simplify group administration by enabling members and leaders to access financial services securely, transparently, and more efficiently, reducing the need for physical visits to bank branches.

Speaking at the NMB Pavilion during the ongoing 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba)NMB Zonal Manager for Group Sales and Rural Banking Distribution, Dismas Prosper, said the application significantly reduces the time and cost associated with accessing banking services while strengthening transaction security and improving financial management for various social and economic groups.

"The NMB Kikundi Mini App is part of our continued commitment to delivering digital banking solutions that empower Tanzanians by making financial services more accessible, convenient, and transparent," Prosper said.

 

Digital Banking at Members' Fingertips

According to Prosper, the application enables group members to open group accounts digitally without visiting an NMB branch. Users can also transfer funds to other banks and mobile money networks, making it easier for groups to conduct financial transactions regardless of their location.

One of the platform's standout features is the ability for members to deposit their contributions directly into the group's bank account. Every contribution is instantly confirmed through an SMS notification sent to the contributing member, enhancing transparency, accountability, and confidence in the management of group funds.

Enhanced Transparency and Governance

Beyond facilitating transactions, the NMB Kikundi Mini App offers members greater visibility into their group's financial activities. Depending on the access rights assigned within the system, users can view share information, the number and names of group members, and individual member details.

These features strengthen governance within groups by promoting accountability while ensuring that sensitive information remains accessible only to authorized users.
