Rotary Club of Mbezi Beach is a registered non-profit organization in Dar es Salaam.

Chartered in 2019, Rotary Club of Mbezi Beach has been active within the community of Mbezi Beach.

This time under the Leadership of President Pamela Mutabazi, and after a superb launch of the Beach Soccer Fundraiser Event, on Saturday 2nd October 2021, the club is excited to have this on a quarterly basis as a Fundraising event with the aim to raise money to buy medical equipment for our community service project at Kawe dispensary.

We would like to see the Beach Soccer Cup become an important fundraising event with the aim of bringing together the community of Mbezi Beach for a sports fun day and at the same time involve each one of us in raising money for the good cause towards improving healthcare facility at Kawe Dispensary, which also services a large part of the surrounding communities.

We aim to have the event quarterly, and of which the next event will be in February 2022.

Kawe Dispensary is under the Local Government Municipality of Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, and services a population of approximately 67,000 plus people. However, with a majority of those from the lower end of the economic scale, Kawe Dispensary is faced with numerous challenges from overcrowding, lack of ambulance, lack of funding to insufficient basic facilities to attend and provide quality treatment to patients.

The Dispensary attends mostly to women, Maternal and Child Healthcare, with prenatal clinics and a small 3 bed Delivery room catering solely to normal deliveries. With approximately 600 patients per month, of which some are exempted from payment such, as Mothers and Children, Kawe Dispensary strives to fulfill their tasks with limited funding

We first started with toilet renovations of the dispensary patients three years ago and this year we have joined hands together with Kawe councilor Mh Muta Rwakatare to focus on improving on medical equipment’s.

As a start, we have primarily focused on buying an UltraSound Machine, Full Blood Picture and Nebuliser machines.

Pamela Mutabazi,
President Rotary Club, Mbezi Beach.
