TIGO TANZANIA APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVE TO HEAD CORPORATE BUSINESS UNIT

Dar es Salaam, March 24, 2015: Tigo Tanzania today announced the appointment of Rene Bascope as the new Head of Corporate Services, a business unit whose primary function is to provide technically innovative and secure connectivity solutions to companies. Bascope joins Tigo from April 1, this year.

Tigo Interim General Manager Cecile Tiano said in a statement to the media that Bascope has over 17 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry working for different telecom operators. He has an outstanding track record of achievements in Sales, Customer Operations and Team Building.

The new member of Tigo Tanzania’s executive team joins from Tigo Rwanda where he worked as Head of Corporate Services since 2012 to January 2013 when he became Head of Customer Operations. Before joining Tigo, Bascope was the Regional Manager of VIVA GSM - NUEVATEL PCS DE BOLIVIA, according to Ms Tiano.

Bascope holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arizona followed by an MBA from University NUR in Cochabamba Bolivia, he also has Leadership diplomas from Kellogg School of Management (Kellogg on Marketing) and from INCAE Business School (Gerencia con Liderazgo).
