Students of higher learning institutions are to benefit from the oil and gas Expo and career business summit slated for Mtwara in early October.
Speaking to the 'Daily News' on Wednesday, the project manager, Mr Washington Benbella, said it would help give a collaborative opportunity between students, graduates and companies in the oil and gas sector.
"This is an industry that is going to employ Tanzanians from across the country as long as they gain the skills, so the expo would give them access to career opportunities," he said.
TOGSC has discussions that focus on Skills Development in Local Content to meet the needs of the Tanzania Oil and Gas Sector, investment climate in Tanzania, enhanced employability through vocational training in oil and gas, private sector linkages to the natural gas value chain and how to take local content to the next level with government support.
At the conference, delegates called for more local participation in the sector, a call that the Mtwara expo aims to satisfy, he said.
