THE Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) has for the third consecutive week continued to be the most traded shares chart at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE).
According to Zan Securities Limited weekly market wrap ups, TBL traded shares valued at 790m/- equivalents to 39 per cent of the total turnover purchased by both local investors at a price between 13000/- and 13500/- per shares. Similarly TBL led the most gainers chart by recording all time higher price of 13,500/- up by 3.8 per cent over previous week price.
Also, the listing of the new baby, Swala Oil and Gases, and cross listing of Uchumi Supermarket at the Dar es Salaam bourse last week pushed up market capitalisation by 0.31 per cent to close at 21.24tri/-.
Activity levels rose by 20 per cent to 2,198,991 shares, an increase from 1,828,192 shares of the previous session. Tanzania share index (TSI) capped at 4,229.42 points closing high by 1.81 per cent compared with the 4154.18points posted a week earlier, while All share Index (DSEI) closed at 2434.98 up by 0.03 per cent compared with the 2434.25points recorded a week earlier.
Industrial and Allied index recorded upward trend of 2.89 per cent but Bank, Finance and Investment index recorded downward trend by 0.36 per cent. Commercial Services index recoded 0.84 per cent up during the week under review.
According to Weekly market report by Tanzania Securities Limited (TSL), the Banking segment was more active contributing around 57 per cent of the total turnover and 96 per cent of the market activity. CRDB was the most active counter with a volume of 1,900,535 shares traded at a price of 320/- per share.
NMB counter transacted 128,548 shares at prices of 4,080/- and 4,100/- per share. DCB counter moved a volume of 50,840 at a price of 490/- per share.
Twiga counter followed, closing the week up at 2,410/- with 8,662 shares transacted. TCC counter had 3,990 shares that exchanged hands at a price of 13,100/- per share.
Swala transacted 3,400 shares at prices of 600/- and 625/- per share. Simba counter gained to 2,700/- per share transacting 2,980 shares.
