Presiding over the launch, the Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Mr Said Meck Sadick, urged the company to make sure that price does not become an hindrance to people buying their products.
“I am happy that Mahindra has decided to come direct to Dar es Salaam. But you drive will be beneficial to the country if what you are doing will help in reversing a trend of importing used vehicles,” he said in a speech read on his behalf by Ilala District Commissioner, Mr Raymond Mushi.
Alongside official opening of the showroom, the company also unveiled its new Mahindra XUV500, a sports utility vehicle which has been designed and developed to suit the desires and needs of customers.
