BRANDS OF CHINA AFRICAN SHOWCASE BEGINS THIS WEEK IN DAR ES SALAAM

MORE than 100 Chinese exhibitors will take part in Brands of China African showcase scheduled to begin in Dar es Salaam on Thursday this week.
The Economic and Commerce representative of Chinese people in Tanzania, Ms Wang Fang, said the showcase will help most Tanzanians to get familiar with Chinese genuine brands.
"We believe that the showcase will become one of the important platforms for economic and trade exchange, something which will help both to achieve mutual benefits," she said.
Ms Fang further added that the exhibition also aim to promote the development of the economic and trade relations between China and Tanzania. She said that it is obvious that there were challenges like that of imbalance of trade but it is crucial to focus on resolving them as of current export of Tanzania product to China has increased to 45 per cent.
Brands of China African Showcase is a four day event to be held at Diamond Jubilee Hall that aims to promote the trade and economic relationship between the China and African countries.
It helps the Chinese manufacturers and traders to showcase their products and commodities in front of more than 30,000 professional buyers and visitors.
The Vice General Manager of China Foreign Trade, Mr Ma Guoqin, said that the previous session in September last year achieved the expected results and was recognized by the political and business circle in the country.
"We expect more in this year's showcase and it is expected that more than 100 exhibitors from 12 provinces and municipalities in China including those of the world top 500 will participate," he elaborated. Acting Executive Director Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (TCCIA) Daniel Machemba said that purpose of any trade is to improve the lives of the people thus people should use business opportunities well.
"There is no way we can avoid challenges but we have to make sure we tackle them especially imbalance of trade as the imbalance will always be there simply because China is big coutry than ours," said Mr Machemba.
The exhibitors will include the following, machinery and vehicles, household appliances, electronics and communication devices, Solar energy, Daily consumer goods, Hardware and building materials, Chemical products, Medical products, Electrical equipment, Construction materials, Health care and comprehensive products.
