According to the Managing Director, Ms. Esra Esriti, “We feel proud
to be part of the school in endeavoring education system and Aydin Logistics is
focusing on improving the education system in Tanzania, as it is key to
breaking out of the cycle of poverty. In
order to improve the learning environment we have begun this new bond between
Vingunguti Primary School and Aydin Logistics; these 100 desks is the beginning
of our relationship and we will continue to support this school so that we can
have a conducive environment of learning for the pupils.”

The education system in Tanzania has been criticized however there
are various efforts put in place to reform the sector by both the government
and the private corporation. Consequently,
Aydin Logistics joined by the Ambassador of Turkey to Tanzania, Mr. Ali
Davudoglu donated 100 desks worth 10 Million Shillings to Vingunguti Primary
School during the weekend. We believe that it is obvious that the pupils of
Vingunguti cannot perform well if they do not have desks or chairs. We
understand that education plays a crucial role in the social and economic
development of the community hence this is part of our corporate social
responsibility (CSR) through which we support the community around us.
Vingunguti Primary School Head teacher Mr. Calist Chuwa thanked
Aydin Logistics and the Ambassador for their generous donation pledging to make
good use of the desks. “Not all classrooms in schools with a good pupil to
classroom ratio are healthy environments for learning. Our school has 2350
pupils, but all are seated in only 16 classrooms, whose capacity can only
accommodate 720 pupils at the average of 45 in one class. So, for the given
data of 2350 the class now accommodating up to 147 pupils at a go. In this case
the school needs extra 37 classes to be 53 classrooms and that will fill the
gap and lead to a better learning environment for Vinguguti primary School
children,” said Mr. Chuwa.
