SEGMENTATION OF BANKING INSTITUTIONS IN TANZANIA


Banking Institutions in Tanzania are segmented into three key groupings as per Bank of Tanzania definition i.e. Large, Medium and Regional/Small Banks.

Banks are classified by size, with Non Bank Financial Institution's (NBFI's) classifies separately. NBFI's are unique to Tanzania. They include regulated deposit taking institutions other than microfinance institutions.
