Dar es Salaam, 11 October 2025 — In celebrating the 13th edition of Ecobank Day, Ecobank Tanzania has renewed its commitment to partnering with local communities to promote inclusive and quality education for all, under this year’s theme: “Enabling Inclusive Learning for All.”

The theme reflects Ecobank’s belief that every child — including those with disabilities — deserves equal access to high-quality education.

Launched in 2013, Ecobank Day has become one of the group’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, involving employees, the Ecobank Foundation, and other stakeholders in addressing critical social issues such as education, health, and youth empowerment.

This year’s celebrations were particularly special as they coincided with Ecobank’s 40th anniversary, commemorating four decades of innovation, growth, and dedication to advancing Africa’s development.

Speaking during the celebrations, Dr. Charles Asiedu, CEO of Ecobank Tanzania, highlighted the bank’s ongoing campaign, “Transforming Africa Through Education.”

Ecobank Tanzania is proud to have empowered over 200 children with digital skills and artificial intelligence (AI) knowledge in collaboration with Shule Direct. Our commitment goes beyond words — we provide a Learning Management System at Benjamin Mkapa Secondary School, install fibre internet, and supply assistive hearing devices, projectors, desktop computers, and specialized teaching boards for visually impaired students,” Dr. Asiedu said.

He added that the bank also provides specialized training for teachers and students on financial literacy, integrating AI technology to enhance teaching and learning methods.

Moreover, on October 9, 2025, a Pan-African webinar was held in partnership with the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) under the theme:

“Can Technology Break Barriers to Inclusive Education?”

The session brought together experts, teachers, NGOs, and parents to discuss how assistive technology and community engagement can help build an equitable, inclusive education system that enables every child to learn without barriers.
