ZANZIBAR, 6 March 2026 – Puma Energy Tanzania hosted a special Iftar gathering in Zanzibar, bringing together clients, partners, government leaders and key stakeholders in a spirit of unity and appreciation during the holy month of Ramadan.
The gathering served as an opportunity for the company to recognise the continued support of its customers and partners whose collaboration plays an important role in its operations across the country, including its growing presence in Zanzibar.
Held during Ramadan — a time that emphasises compassion, generosity and togetherness — the shared meal created a space for meaningful dialogue and stronger connections beyond formal business engagements. Guests broke their fast together while engaging with company leadership in an atmosphere of reflection and partnership.
The event was graced by the Guest of Honour, the Minister of Water, Energy and Minerals of Zanzibar, Nadir Abdullatif Al‑Wardy.
Strengthening Stakeholder Relationships
Speaking during the event, Managing Director of Puma Energy Tanzania, Fatma M. Abdallah, said the gathering reflected the company’s commitment to building strong relationships with stakeholders and the communities it serves.
“This gathering is our way of recognising the importance of our stakeholders and community in our journey. Their continued trust enables us to operate responsibly and expand access to reliable energy solutions. Ramadan offers a meaningful moment to express gratitude and reaffirm our commitment to service, integrity and collaboration,” said Ms. Abdallah.
Minister Nadir Abdullatif Al‑Wardy commended the initiative, noting that strong collaboration between the public and private sectors plays an important role in supporting Zanzibar’s economic development.
“Ramadan reminds us of the values of unity, generosity and shared responsibility. Platforms like this Iftar strengthen relationships between institutions, businesses and communities. We appreciate partners such as Puma Energy who continue to contribute to Zanzibar’s development by supporting key sectors including energy and aviation infrastructure,” he said.
Supporting Aviation and Energy Development in Zanzibar
Over the years, Puma Energy Tanzania has continued to strengthen its footprint in Zanzibar, particularly in the aviation and retail energy sectors. The company plays a key role in supporting aviation operations at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, where it supplies aviation fuels essential for both international and domestic flights.
Puma Energy is also the sole supplier of AvGas, a specialised fuel used by piston-engine aircraft commonly deployed for pilot training, private aviation and specialised air operations. In addition, the company is a leading supplier of Jet A-1 fuel, which powers commercial jet aircraft and supports the operations of major international and regional airlines flying to and from Zanzibar.
Beyond aviation, the company continues to expand its retail presence in Zanzibar. Following the launch of its first fuel station in Kijitoupele, Fuoni, Puma Energy has been supplying quality fuels and lubricants to customers through its growing network across the islands.
These investments complement the company’s broader efforts to support Tanzania’s tourism, transport and economic growth by ensuring reliable energy supply in key locations such as Zanzibar.
Commitment to Ethical Partnerships
Reflecting on the importance of engaging stakeholders, Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs at Puma Energy Tanzania, Emmanuel G. Bakilana, emphasised the value of maintaining strong partnerships.
“Events like this Iftar allow us to reflect on our shared responsibility to clients and communities. It is a moment to thank those who support our operations and to reinforce the principles of ethical business and partnership that guide our work every day,” said Mr. Bakilana.
Through initiatives such as this Iftar and its continued investments in energy infrastructure, Puma Energy Tanzania continues to reaffirm its commitment to building lasting partnerships with clients and stakeholders while contributing to economic and social development across Tanzania, including Zanzibar.
