The Tanzania Women Contractors Association (TWCA) is a voluntary nonprofit organization established under the Societies Act CAP.337 R.E.2002 with the Ministry of Home Affairs. Their mission is to advocate for women's active involvement in the construction and affiliated sectors, challenge stereotypes, and foster a more inclusive environment. They collaborate closely with government bodies, regulatory boards, international organizations, national universities, and the private sector.
Tanzania Women Contractors Association (TWCA) conducts its annual Conference and General Meeting each year, this year’s event, themed "Empowering Women Contractors: Building Local Strength, Creating Global Impact," The event brought together around 300 participants.
This year's conference aims to empower women contractors through capacity building, promote local content and sustainability, foster networking and collaboration opportunities and advocate for supportive policies and fair contract terms. The chief guest was Amb. Eng. Aisha Amour Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, who represented the Minister for Works, Hon. Innocent Bashungwa.
