EXIM BANK'S INNOVATION FC ENTERS BANKER'S LEAGUE SEMI FINAL

Exim Bank Football squad which claimed a 1-0 victory over Akiba Commercial Bank’s Team in the quarter finals of the Banking League competition match held at Karume Grounds in Dar es Salaam recently.
Exim Bank Head of Treasury, George Shumbusho handing a gift to Exim Innovation FC winger Yussuf Abdillah, whose goal against KCB booked the bank a slot to play in the semi final of the banking competition league.
Dar es Salaam, February 9th, 2015: Exim Innovation FC over the weekend booked a semi-final slot to play DTB FC after narrowly defeating bitter rivals KCB bank by a solitary goal in the on-going bankers’ league competition.

The all important goal was scored by Exim Innovation FC winger Yussuf Abdillah, sending the capacity crowd that had gathered to witness the match at Karume Grounds, Dar es Salaam on Saturday into wild cheers.

The competition features 16 banks across Dar es Salaam City. It aims to strengthen the banks’ ties and friendship, regardless of their status as competitors.

A section of the bank’s staff and hundreds of enthusiastic football fans converged on the stadium to cheer the teams as they locked horns in the competitive match that saw both teams display scintillating soccer that entertained fans and colleagues.

Exim Innovation FC has been a regular participant in all bankers’ leagues and is determined to lift the trophy.

Speaking after the victory, Exim Bank Head of treasury George Shumbusho thanked his players and urged them to focus on achieving the ultimate victory.

“Special thanks goes to the team players especially Yussuf Abdillah, the goal scorer who devoted their time, energy and skills toward this victory. I urge the players to continue with the same spirit in all coming matches so that we can emerge as the champion of this competition,” said Mr. Shumbusho.
