DAR ES SALAAM, May 22, 2026 — Energy company Evosha Energies has expanded its fuel distribution network with the launch of a new service station at the Mbezi Makabe junction in Ubungo District, reinforcing efforts to improve access to fuel services in one of Dar es Salaam’s rapidly growing suburban areas.
The newly opened station was officially inaugurated over the weekend by the Ubungo District Commissioner, Hon. Albert Msando, who described the investment as a timely response to increasing fuel demand driven by urban expansion and rising transport activities within the district.
Speaking during the launch event, Msando said the station will improve accessibility to fuel services for motorists, bodaboda riders, and nearby residents, while also supporting economic activity in the surrounding communities.
“This investment is important because it brings essential services closer to the people and supports economic activities taking place in this rapidly developing area,” he said.
According to Evosha Energies Sales Director, Justin Shengelema, the company remains committed to expanding reliable and convenient fuel services across strategic locations in Dar es Salaam and other growing urban centres.
Shengelema noted that the Mbezi station is expected to reduce the time residents and transport operators spend travelling long distances to access fuel services, improving efficiency in both transportation and day-to-day business operations.
The opening of the station reflects broader investment trends in fuel infrastructure as energy companies continue positioning themselves to meet growing demand across Dar es Salaam’s expanding suburban communities.
Supporting Urban Growth Through Infrastructure
With continued population growth and increasing commercial activity in areas such as Mbezi and Ubungo, demand for accessible fuel stations and transport support services has continued to rise.
Industry stakeholders say investments in fuel infrastructure play a critical role in supporting mobility, trade, and economic development, particularly in high-growth residential and business corridors.
The new Evosha station is expected to serve a wide range of customers including private motorists, public transport operators, logistics providers, and motorcycle riders operating within and around the Mbezi area.
