Dar es Salaam, Tanzania — More than 300 young swimmers from over 25 schools gathered at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club grounds on Sunday for the exciting finale of the Swahili Talent Swimming Competition Season 3, proudly sponsored by Absa Bank Tanzania.
The competition not only celebrated sporting excellence among young swimmers but also highlighted the importance of inclusivity by involving children with special needs from Dar es Salaam and Arusha.
The event attracted students, parents, coaches, and sports enthusiasts, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with determination, excitement, and celebration of young talent in swimming.
Promoting Young Talent Through Sports
Speaking during the prize-giving ceremony, Absa Bank Tanzania Liability Products Manager, Mr. George Kaindoah, presented awards to some of the competition’s outstanding performers, including Malachi Mwiki and Amran Suleiman.
Other notable winners recognized during the event included Alssein Humudi and Konhelli Mhella, who impressed spectators with their performances throughout the competition.
The competition served as an important platform for identifying and nurturing young swimming talent, while also encouraging discipline, confidence, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles among children and youth.

Participants with special needs were honoured with medals during a special recognition session attended by Absa Bank representatives, including Irene Mushi, who joined the children for commemorative photos after the ceremony.

Exciting Performances in the Pool
The competition featured thrilling swimming races that showcased the determination and skill of the young participants. Among the standout moments was the impressive performance by young swimmer Cairo Erick Johannes, who drew attention with his energetic dive into the pool during one of the races.
Young swimmer Malikah Kassim was also among the celebrated participants, proudly displaying her medal after an impressive showing in the competition.
The event concluded with jubilant winners proudly displaying their medals during the colorful prize-giving ceremony, marking another successful edition of the growing swimming competition.
